What you do? I deliver performance management solutions for ever evolving cellular networks.I also provide consulting services to customers on matters of monitoring and optimisation their networks.

Why AIRCOM? AIRCOM  has the right mix of software for networks of different  technologies and platforms, which allows you to develop a skill set that can serve a multitude of network scenarios.  I saw the software  in action and wanted to join.

What do you enjoy doing the most at AIRCOM? I enjoy being on site delivering projects and working in a team. Innovating and crafting customer-centric solutions in a team work embodies my job satisfaction at AIRCOM.

What have you learnt whilst at AIRCOM? With all the travelling and customer engagements, I’ve learned a great deal. I have had the chance to work for all AIRCOM hubs and I have learned the ability to be proactive, agile and adaptive. This is invaluable, since it’s helped me to develop an all-round perception of people, cultures, technology and industry trends.

Job Title : Documentation Manager, UK

Year Joined : 2000

What do you do? I manage a team of Technical Authors. We are responsible for providing the user assistance (help files, user reference guides, technical reference guides etc) and training guides for the AIRCOM software products.

Why AIRCOM? When I came for my interview, I was impressed by the youthfulness of the company – the enthusiasm and the sense of creating new things. Over time, the company has grown and matured, but I think these things are still present in a lot of what we do.

What do you enjoy the most at AIRCOM? Getting to grips with a brand new piece of functionality, figuring out how it works and then translating that into something easy to read and will help someone using our tools.

What have you learnt whilst  at AIRCOM? I’ve developed all sorts of new skills here.  Aside from the technical skills, as a manager I’ve definitely improved my project management and people management skills.

What do you do?  I deliver consultancy services to different operators in various countries which include roll-out, pre-launch optimisation, post-launch optimisation, training, our expertise, etc. for 2G/3G/4G.

Why AIRCOM ? I was impressed by the skilful AIRCOM guys I met and AIRCOM’s powerful software when I discovered when getting to know AIRCOM. I thought I would like to work with these guys, and without a second thought I said “yes” when I was given the opportunity to join.

What do you enjoy the most at AIRCOM?  With wireless technology evolving every day, I have to keep up with the latest developments in the industry and provide a better consulting service. Learning is good, but making good use of the knowledge is even better. I enjoy seeing satisfaction from customers after I have finished a project which involved my technical opinions and hard work. 

What have you learnt whilst  at AIRCOM?  I appreciate the many opportunities I have had to work in different countries and  make different friends.  I deal with different customers and those with different requirements create   very unique experiences.  I have learnt  a lot from customer interaction and understanding the needs of the customer.

What do you do? I manage the design and development of software tools used by our Consulting Department to improve mobile networks around the world.

Why AIRCOM ? AIRCOM combines many of my interests: radio, communication networks, software and databases. I’ve had the opportunity to travel extensively and work in many different countries. At AIRCOM I’m free to try out new ideas and innovate without being caught up in bureaucracy.

What do you enjoy doing the most at AIRCOM?  I enjoy building systems that solve real world problems, and helping the people on my team to realise the potential they have.

What have you learnt whilst at AIRCOM ? -  How to always look at the bigger picture! Travelling has helped me to build my confidence and independence, and leading a team has taught me how to empathise with other people. The main thing I have learnt at AIRCOM is how to learn new things quickly; it is rare that a day goes by when I do not learn something new.

Job Title : Programme Assistant, UK

Year Joined : 2008

Job Role :  I started AIRCOM as a  Consultancy Administrator supporting our consultants, contractors and project managers. I managed the calibration and shipment of AIRCOM's test equipment, organising  vehicle hires, managing properties, and project budgets.  Now, I  am a Programme Assistant working  directly with the  Director of Programmes and Architecture. My responsibilities include assisting in project management and reporting across the programme.   

Why AIRCOM? I was looking for  a fresh start back in 2008, moved to Leatherhead (AIRCOM’s HQ) and sought a busy,  international  company, where I  could grow  professionally,  and apply  my skills.

What do you enjoy doing the most at AIRCOM? I enjoy being able to use my initiative,  put forward suggestions that can be taken onboard,  interacting with colleagues and other AIRCOM offices and being part of a team.  

What have you learnt whilst  at AIRCOM?  I have been able to deepen my knowledge of Telecoms, gaining a certificate  in the ‘Fundamentals in Telecommunications’ and  I am also a trained Fire Warden and First Aider.

What do you do? As Module Lead of VI - QA, I am responsible for project planning, resource management and process development within my team. My contribution also includes coordinating with other VI teams to ensure a smooth workflow and timely delivery of assigned work.

What do you enjoy doing most at AIRCOM? Working in a great  team, always ready to face challenges and learn in the process!

Why AIRCOM?  AIRCOM’s open culture suits me. I have freedom to apply processes and ideas for  product improvement.

What do you enjoy doing most at AIRCOM?  I enjoy team collaboration and eagerness to overcome hurdles on project delivery concerns. I enjoy being a facilitator for the team.

What you have learnt whilst at AIRCOM? I have learnt to understand team dynamics and adapt.  I also learn to get  the work done  through team effort.

What you do? I am a Pre-sales Consultant for AIRCOM software tools. My work mainly involves interacting with the prospective clients, providing product demonstrations and then tailoring  solutions per clients’ requirements. I   work with Account Managers on different  business opportunities too.  At AIRCOM, we are part of global team, rather than a local team, which is great, as we interact with teammates from different locations on different requirements.

 Why AIRCOM?  I had previous experience in telecom network planning software and consultancy and Telecoms engineering and saw this path as my future career. I was also looking for  a market leader, fast growing in thiniche, who  could provide me a job opportunity to work across global teams and with clients – a perfect choice for me.

What  do you enjoy doing? I enjoy interacting with customers and collaborating with other teams spread across the globe. I am surrounded by people who share respect for one another and  who are a great  source of constant mentoring. Overall, I feel motivated to giving my best in what I  do and enjoy improving my learning curve.


What you learn / experience gained? 
I have gained experience in both product support and pre-sales whilst at AIRCOM. This has been very important learning for me, as it  has helped me develop a customer focus attitude. I have  travelled to many countries for product demos, interacting with people from different cultures. And these  experiences have helped me feed valuable information back to  our product engineering teams, very important for long term success. I have also learnt  more about new technologies such as 3G, 4G etc and the latest innovative products.

What do you do?  I joined AIRCOM in 2008 as a RF Engineer for our consultancy department, but moved to OSS Support in May 2011, where I  deploy and support AIRCOM’s performance management tool.

AIRCOM offer different services  to customers in  different countries, which means their requirements in turn are different and each one is handled individually. I  handle customer queries regarding our tools and any  technical faults that occur, continually maintaining  AIRCOM’s services  and ensuring customer satisfaction and trust.  So my job involves a lot of  travelling and dealing with clients directly. I also work closely with the support team as we  share knowledge from different queries which makes my job easier.

 Why AIRCOM?  I  have a small team and I felt  it easier and quicker to integrate myself and get settled. I have been  given the  opportunity to focus on my key areas of expertise which has allowed me to do my job beyond expectations.

What do you enjoy doing the most at AIRCOM?  I have had the opportunity to travel and experience visiting different countries, tackling different challenges  on projects. This has greatly developed my personal and business skills. Overall my transition to a new  department has helped me progress my career and allowed me discover and develop other abilities.

What have you learnt whilst at AIRCOM? I have learned to be responsible on how to deal with clients. Projects at AIRCOM bring varying challenges and no matter the level of expectation and reaction, I have learned how to take care of my customer.

Job Title : Operations Manager, Italy

What do you do ?
I started at AIRCOM as a RF Engineer on radio access network, planning & optimisation projects.  Then  later,  as a Project Manager I managed RF Engineer teams, working in various  projects across the country which gave me full responsibility in terms of customer delivery.

Now as Operations Manager I’m more involved in drafting business and project management plans as well as customer bids,  working with sales and general management.

Why AIRCOM ? I joined the company at the very beginning of the Italian operations, as I felt more confident and enthusiastic in working in a start-up environment where you could provide a really tangible contribution to the implementation of  projects. I had the chance to be directly involved in challenging activities.

What do you enjoy doing the most at AIRCOM ?  I like to have visibility of projects and always find new business opportunities. Whilst I like to set up and manage projects,  I’m also a keen team builder  strongly oriented to the development of teams.  My aim is to gradually empower my team creating benefit to the company, the individuals and the projects  delivered.

What you have learnt whilst at AIRCOM ?   Apart from putting into practice my technical skills and competences as  an engineer, I have always  had the  opportunity to work on the front line and be in close contact with management. This in turn has allowed me to feel more and more encouraged, empowered and proactive -   the decision maker I am today.

Job Title : Senior Technology Engineer, UK

Year Joined : 2002

What you do? As a senior systems analyst my contribution to AIRCOM involves cutting-edge research and development for telecoms. I research problematic 3G and 4G issues and devise novel solutions at minimum cost to the customer. I also carry out software development of prototype solutions which must be fast, efficient and robust. When the need arises I troubleshoot.

Why AIRCOM? Following my PhD in Physics, I wanted a career to combine my scientific research and technical software skills. AIRCOM provided the ideal opportunity for this.

What do you enjoy doing the most at AIRCOM? Finding innovative solutions and creating software. I enjoy working as a team with dynamic, like-minded people and the challenges of modern telecoms.

What have you learnt whilst at AIRCOM? I have gained software experience in different languages. Looking at the potential of 4G and its development has been fascinating. The range of issues and technologies addressed at AIRCOM has contributed to my own skills and values.

Job Title : Solutions Engineer, Singapore

What do you do? I perform software installation/configuration for our clients in the Asia Pacific region, handling software support issues, troubleshooting and providing solutions. I am currently building up my knowledge base on AIRCOM OPTIMA, our performance management software.

Why AIRCOM ? AIRCOM is an industry leader, and as a multi-national company, it gives you a broader perspective on things, especially in my line of work. Whilst we are an global company I still  stay, on a first-name basis with everybody .

What do you enjoy doing most at AIRCOM? I love to work on projects which I know I’m great at and at the same time  I learn new technologies as the needs arise.  I get job satisfaction from doing both of these aspects, right here at AIRCOM.

What you have learnt whilst at AIRCOM ?  My role entails wearing a few hats at the same time, so that I will need some skills of a DBA, network engineer, developer, systems administrator and implementation engineer.  Within this process,  I get to learn  about new  technologies, disciplines and processes  ie: GIS technologies, database administration, third-party components/software, and most importantly, AIRCOM’s own software & applications.
