Planning with ASSET & CONNECT
Leatherhead, UK, 18th October 2010 - AIRCOM International has today launched ASSET 7.0 and CONNECT 7.0, major new releases of its planning and optimisation software. The two updates ensure that both ASSET and CONNECT are future proofed to work with WiMAX and LTE mobile broadband network technologies.
ASSET ensures mobile operators can efficiently model the radio access network prior to deployment, and optimise new technology deployment in the existing multi-technology, multi-vendor radio networks to maximise customer experience and revenue. Use of ASSET to effectively plan a mobile network can reduce the number of required sites by up to 60%, increase coverage by 10% or more and improve productivity many fold.
CONNECT offers intelligent backhaul network capacity planning, combining TDM, Ethernet IP and hybrid networks to deliver seamless design of new networks and optimisation of current infrastructure. With CONNECT, operators can reduce both OPEX and CAPEX, avoiding network bottlenecks despite increasing mobile data transmission.
Uniquely, ASSET and CONNECT integrate to offer a seamless overview of both radio and backhaul components of the network, and together can create CAPEX and OPEX savings of up to 40%.
The new release also delivers:
• Web based technology interfaces for seamless integration with 3rd party applications, systems and solutions
• Integration with Google Earth to enable an enhanced visualisation of radio and transmission networks
• Better international language support, including Far Eastern & Arabic characters
• Three ‘editions’, offering different feature sets for CONNECT.
“Increasing demand for mobile data is driving uptake of the latest mobile broadband network technologies globally,” said Darryl Edwards, CEO, AIRCOM International. “As global operators contemplate LTE and WiMAX migration, careful network planning and optimisation will be instrumental in achieving the best possible network service quality at the lowest possible cost. Version 7 of ASSET and CONNECT will enable mobile operators to achieve these goals and drive profitability.”
