Leatherhead, UK, 23 October, 2009: AIRCOM International is pleased to announce the appointment of Darryl Edwards as CEO and board member. Darryl joins AIRCOM from a long and distinguished career at Nortel. Darryl is tasked with building profitable growth within AIRCOM, whilst continuing AIRCOM's drive towards new and innovative solutions for an ever-changing industry.
Most recently he has been the President, Global Sales Carrier Networks which included both the Wireless and Carrier customers. Prior to his Global Sales role, Darryl successfully led the Nortel Europe, Middle East and Africa business for Nortel. In previous Nortel roles, Darryl has held positions as CEO Nortel Germany and Chairman of the Board for Nortel Networks Netas in Turkey. Since 2004 Darryl was also a member of Advisory Counsel to the Turkish government and previously with the UK Government Broadband Stakeholders Group and the Information Age Partnership (IAP).
Before joining Nortel, Darryl spent 13 years at GEC and subsequently its joint venture with Siemens, GEC-Plessey Telecommunications (GPT), which was later to become Marconi. Darryl has held a series of positions with the company in production, product development, and software design and quality management leading to senior regional sales manager for Southern Europe.
